I don't think the previous pictures give a very good indication of just how wide the rear wheel is. Even I didn't realise until I pulled her out of the workshop the other day. Phew! All those hours making the hub were worth it!
Haven't done a lot on it this week as Mad Richard's lathe is out of action.

More progress, the exhaust is now done. It's really difficult to fit pipes on an Indian V-Twin, due to the lack of space between the running-board mounts and the motor. Then there's the problem of kickstart clearance when it's depressed. Maximum pipe diameter is 1.5". Or is it? These are 2" pipes with 2.25" endpipes. They're straight-through, and should really bellow.

A few tricks were used to get the pipes to miss everything, with both pipes having recesses let into them where clearance was a problem. As they're running so close to the paintwork, they'll be lagged with heatproof tape, to prevent damage.

So....where do you get 2" bends? Easy....out of the skip at the local Kwik-Fit Centre. Usually, an exhaust is replaced because the silencer has blown. The rest of the pipe is perfect. It took 6 systems to get enough bends to do this. About 15 bends were cut and shaped, sleeved, and welding. A bit of careful sanding and the welds are no longer visible.
Total cost? A drink to the Kwik-Fit Man. And a full day's work.
