18th March. Recieving the profiles was like all my Christmasses had come at once. At last I could build the frame. The first job was to box in the two front downtube sections. A horrible, awkward and tedious job. Because it'll also be the oil tank, the welds had to be perfect. They also had to be smooth. I sanded them down where possible with an angle grinder and soft disc, but there was no way I could get inside the tight radii, so they were all filed down by hand, with a half-round file. Mind you, it only took two days!
The frame-build itself was quite straight forward. Once it was tacked up, I took the engine out so I could check the wheel alignment. It was perfect! It was stripped and fully welded. Once a frame is welded, it distorts slightly, but I made allowances for that when I built the jig.

Next step was to re-assemble it on the floor to see if it sat as I wanted. To say I'm like a dog with two tails is an understatement. It sat perfect. Here's some dimensions.....Total length 8ft. Ground clearance 4.5". Hight to seatbase 22". Highest point of bike 34". Now, that's what I call a LowRider!
So, that was the easiest part of the build. Next job is tank, electrics box, exhaust, 1,000 brackets, tabs and lugs, fitting mudguards..........and the list goes on!!!!!
